Thinking about the health of your staff with Dormatec Aircleaners

Pampering employees

By serving as a forward warehouse for customers, machining center Oostwegel can bundle production and work more efficiently. In addition to the introduction of this new revenue model, the company pays a lot of attention to staff well-being. In this context, the machinery has been equipped with Dormatec extraction systems in recent months.

Personnel is currently by far the sector's biggest challenge, says Maurice Oostwegel, owner of Oostwegel Special Productions in Heerlen, which he runs together with his daughter Vivian (30) and son Bart (29). The entrepreneur argues for the reintroduction of the 40-hour working week in order to create 5 percent extra working capacity. 'In addition, the option should be offered to only pay out 70 percent in the event of illness, and the transition payment must also be overhauled. The current arrangement does not encourage people to work.'

In addition to his political wishes, the entrepreneur does everything he can to keep the staff happy. A good example of this is the recent installation of Dormatec extraction systems on the machine park, which consists of about thirty Okuma lathes and milling machines. 'During the previous evaluation discussions, air quality emerged as a point of attention. We then took action and started looking for solutions', says Oostwegel junior. The manager indicates that, among other things, the strong expansion of the machinery has had an effect on the climate in the production hall. "It makes a big difference whether you have eight machines in a room or thirty."
