Plastic is a versatile material. Properties range from tough polymer structures to highly rigid, high-tech products. Efficient shredding requires a lot of experience and know-how.
With many thousands of plastic shredders supplied, there are hardly any applications that WEIMA has not yet encountered. Think of classic items such as start-up purge, lumps, crates, pallets, tubes, containers, molded parts and post-consumer waste such as PET bottles or packaging. It also includes particularly tear-resistant materials such as rubber, fibers and films, aramid, Kevlar or carbon.

The WEIMA plastic shredders are extremely flexible and offer different rotor types, rotor geometries and cutting tools, allowing them to shred a wide variety of thermoplastics such as PE, PP, PVC, PS, PU and PET, as well as various thermosets and elastomers.
Even large-volume hollow bodies, long tubes and profiles, huge start-up lumps and other production waste, as well as PET bottles, textile fibres, films, insulation materials, floor coverings, crates and containers master WEIMA industrial shredders effortlessly thanks to 40 years of experience in the plastics industry.
WEIMA has the following types of metal shredders for you:
- Single shaft shredders from the WLK and WKS series; WLK 4, WLK 6s, WLK 800, WLK 10, WLK 15, WLK 20, WLK 1000, WLK 1500, WLK 2000, WKS 1400, WKS 1800, WKS 2200
- More shaft shredders from the ZM series; ZM 30, ZM 40, ZM 50
You can use the following materials in diameter and size from 300mm to 900mm.
But the granulators are also ideally suited for processing plastics. These machines granulate the material into particle sizes from 3 to 12 mm and are an excellent addition to the shredding process.
